Dayton Concert Photographer | Nate McDonough Band

Little did I know that when I got a text to come meet a couple of friends out at a local bar that by the end of the night I would be photographing the band performing. Upon arriving & catching up on lost time with my friends all I could see were photos in my head as I watched the band start to perform. After commenting about it, my friend conveniently mentions that she knows the band & that I should grab my camera & start shooting. At the band’s first break, arrangements were made for me to photograph the rest of the performance. Despite the tough lighting conditions, small stage & ever forming crowd, it was like old times for me. It has been quite a while since I’ve been on the front line for a concert after doing so many in 2009. I truly had missed the rush of trying to capture the feel & atmosphere of what was going on. So with a breath of fresh air, I present the photos of the Nate McDonough Band at W.O. Wrights. I highly recommend that you check these guys out if you are in the Dayton area. Lots of original music & a nice blend of covers as well.Nate McDonough Band - WO WrightsNate McDonough Band - WO WrightsNate McDonough Band - WO Wrights Continue reading

Dayton Portrait Photographer | Snowy Fun

So one of the things I love about being a photographer are the challenges that each & every shoot represents. While I have worked with models, I find my greatest reward in working with people who are less experienced & are many times intimidated of being in front of a camera of anyone other than friends or family. Those types of “barriers” challenge even the most experienced photographers as each personality you encounter presents a different set of characteristics than those before. A professional camera combined with the “insecurities” of how they have may have been photographed previously, feel about how they look or just having not been photographed professionally other grade school are often the situations I find myself in. While these situations are difficult, being able to watch the person relax, gain confidence & in the end rock some great images allows me become a better photographer each & every time. However, the sweetest reward is when they see the final images & have an overwhelming positive response & renewed confidence about themselves & how the see themselves. Impacting someone’s life in such a positive way is truly priceless. Even those who have been around & worked shoots with me such as my friend Crystal find themselves nervous about being in front of the camera. She did nothing short of a great job in helping me capture some great images on a snowy Saturday afternoon. It is music to my ears when I call it a wrap & get asked, “So when are we going to do this again?”. Hope everyone enjoys my newest inspiring images!Crystal - Park Snow ShootCrystal - Park Snow ShootCrystal - Park Snow Shoot Continue reading

Dayton Portrait Photographer | Cowgirl Up!

So it has been awhile since my friend Michelle asked me to come out & photograph her & her horse after doing some fun photos of her & the kids. As luck would have it, the one day we could get everyone coordinated for the shoot had to be the coldest day! With that said, Michelle was a trooper despite the cold & all of our hard work paid off in the following images. I would like to credit another friend of mine, Crystal Jackson, with assisting on the makeup & bearing through the cold with us. We definitely had a lot of fun & I hope to do some similar shoots in the future once it warms back up!

Dayton Portrait Photographer | Untitled – Tyler

A couple of months ago I had the pleasure & opportunity to join Leeka Koleukhova of Magic Memory Works on a model shoot with Tyler. She had picked out a beautiful location for the shoot that couldn’t have been any better after seeing her vision for Tyler. I allowed Leeka to do her thing as I grabbed a few shoots while she worked her magic. Once again, I had another great experience & I want to extend a special thanks to Leeka for allowing me the opportunity to join in & watch her work. Please check out her great work! Eclectic Wedding…..Country Style

A couple of months ago I had the pleasure & opportunity to work with Leeka Koleukhova of Magic Memory Works as a second photographer on a small country wedding in Xenia, OH. It was a small intimate scene with family & friends from not only around the country, but around the world! Much of Rike’s family is from Europe & traveled to share this very special day with her. The ceremony took place near an old willow tree accented by a large pond in the background. There was a tour of the property in which we took the opportunity to photograph Paul & Rike all around the property & even some photos with the horses. It was a fun day & I want to extend a special thanks to Leeka for allowing me the opportunity to see her at work along with taking part. Please check out her great work! Dayton Child Portrait Photographer | Country Fun

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to meet & photograph a wonderful family. Upon making a little trip out to the country, we settled things down by letting the kids be kids. Nathan loves his fishing & was so excited to show me how to fish. Little Natalie has the biggest blue eyes I’ve seen & was so adorable after she got over her shyness. A special thanks goes out to Michelle for having me out to photograph her & her great family. I’m very much looking forward to doing it again!
